Aging Barrels Rapidly Smooth Liquor

Aging liquor in mini barrels gives it a smoother, higher-quality taste. As the wooden barrel breathes, the alcohol passes back and forth through the charring. This movement filters out the impurities into the wood, leaving a smoother result. Your beverages will take on the compounds in the mini whisky barrel, including vanillin and wood tannins, and come out smooth, delicious, and perfectly aged – in a fraction of the time it takes in large barrels. And, perhaps more importantly, for a fraction of the cost

Wine and Beer Aging Oak Barrels

Our distillery grade casks aren’t limited to only hard liquor. Before wine was stored in glass bottles (hundreds of years ago), it was typically stored and sold in wooden barrels. That’s why you often see wine barrels strewn about in paintings from around this time. We may no longer need barrels to store and transport wine, but we sure still enjoy the flavor they impart. Oak barrels are an essential part of modern wine making. The oak adds flavor compounds such as clove, vanilla, coconut, and smoke; it also allows the slow ingress of oxygen, making the wine smoother and less astringent. Believe it or not, you can even age beer in oak barrels, and this practice is becoming better-known among home brewers. Remember that beer ages faster than wine or liquor because of its lower alcohol content, so check it sooner and let your palate guide you.
