At Red Head Barrels, we strive to make the top-quality small whiskey barrels meant for aging whiskey. We don’t use recycled wood that’s been previously used – we only use brand new wood that makes our barrels stand out and gives our whiskey the best flavor. We use the same wood that most distilleries and wineries use in their small oak whiskey barrels.

We source our wood from across the US including California, Missouri, and Kentucky. We build our barrels with a medium char, which we’ve found to be absolutely the best at aging spirits and adding flavor to them.

Our small barrels come in different sizes – 1 liter, 2 liter, 3 liter, and 5 liter. We have larger barrel sizes available as well – but our small barrels might be the best if you’re aging whiskey at home or are trying aging for the first time.

Small Whiskey Barrels will age whiskey faster since there is less liquid in the barrels and more surface area covering them – so if you’re impatient or wanting to get a great aging taste faster – a small barrel is best for you.
