Simply take 10 liters of unflavored rum, add the rum flavor of your choice and shake. Your rum is ready to drink then. However if you let it age in the oak barrel you will arrive with a flavor and taste second to none. Similarly as with most hand crafted bourbons the longer you leave it in the barrel the more smooth and aged the flavor. Aging a rum in the barrel will do the same.
